The ViewSonic ViewPad E100 houses a 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS display with a native resolution of 1024 x 768p. Put it side-by-side with the iPad and you would not see much of a difference between the two. ViewPad E100 will run the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS that is well complemented by the 1 GHz Cortex processor and very responsive capacitive touchscreen display that offers a very smooth experience with the Android OS.
On the connectivity side, users will not fall short of options as the new ViewSonic ViewPad E100 will have a lot of ports that the iPad 2 lacks. The ViewPad E100 has a USB port for transferring files easily to any PC or transfer latest music and movie downloads using your flash drives. It also features a proper HDMI port that offers a more convenient connection as opposed to the one with the iPad 2. In addition, the device will also have a microSD slot to allow the user to expand the internal storage of the device. Apart from the Wi-Fi connectivity of the ViewPad E100, it will also support 3G networks and two variants will be available, one with 3G and the other with Wi-Fi only. In addition, it also has support for Bluetooth 3.0 to connect the tablet to other device and peripherals.
The latest ViewSonic ViewPad E100 is truly an impressive lower-priced alternative to the iPad 2. We are looking forward to see more of this device on the coming months as it will be released in Europe this third quarter of 2012. Price is expected to be around $300 which is much lower than the expected price of £260 for the wi-fi version and £325 for the 3G enabled devices. As quoted from the Michael Holstein, Vice President of Business Development of ViewSonic,
“The ViewPad E100 delivers a mobile tablet experience at an irresistible price point. By pairing our display expertise with the latest Android operating system and mobile technology, we are able to offer our customers a seamless experience for on the go productivity and entertainment,”
