If you can still recall, we did tell you that Samsung will be upgrading its Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) sometime within the first quarter of this year. The specific date of the update’s release was not mentioned but it is very likely for it to arrive by the end of this quarter.
From what we have recently heard, Samsung has just announced that it will be pushing the said update on the international versions of the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note. Thus, in two months’ time, your phone’s firmware will finally be upgraded to Android 4.0. Meanwhile, those with local versions such as the ones that you can get at AT&T will have to be patient for it could take a while before they can get their phones upgraded. Those with Samsung Galaxy R, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus will have to wait a bit more.
With Android Ice Cream Sandwich, Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note users will be able to experience what it feels like to own an Android device with a modified user interface. Not only that, they will also be able to take advantage of the new features that will be installed on their phones. Released last April 2011, the Samsung Galaxy S2 can take pride of its 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen with 480 x 800 pixels of full screen resolution. The phone was originally released with Android 2.3 Gingerbread at its core.
On the other hand, the international version Samsung Galaxy Note has already been launched at selected countries across the globe. The mobile device flaunts a large 5.3 inch display that goes alongside with its Super AMOLED Capacitive Touch Screen, 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, 2MP front camera and 1.4GHz of Dual Core ARM Cortex A9 Exynos Processor.
