Samsung Galaxy Note Received Android 4.0 ICS ROM Firmware

The 5.3-inch Samsung Galaxy Note was released with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread. It may not have the latest OS but it’s certainly one of today’s hottest Phone-Tablet. With the Note’s unique S-Pen technology, you can easily doodle on their screenshots and images. But still, it would have been better if you can upgrade Your Galaxy note firmware to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Well, Samsung did promise to release an update that will somehow upgrade the phone’s firmware to Google’s latest Android platform. That may sound like a day brightener but don’t get too hyped up. You could wait for months before the update gets officially launched. But before you get depressed, words on the street have stated that the official Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich build for the Samsung Galaxy Note has recently been spotted at a particular Chinese forum. The leaked ICS build appears to be the official update for the GT-I9220, the Chinese variant of the Note. It cannot be flashed on other models though.
Furthermore, we’ve come to learn that the build is still in its early/beta stage and it does contain a couple of glitches and errors. On the lighter side, you can be able to take advantage of the firmware’s custom Touchwiz user interface, app launcher, Bluetooth and camera support.

There have been lots of speculations about the 4.0 ICS update for the Galaxy S2 and Note. In fact, the other day, there was this rumor stating that the said firmware will be rolled out by March 1. As much as we would like to believe all these leaks, only Samsung can help ease our anxieties. For now, we’ll just have to keep our cool and be contented with Gingerbread. After all, we still can use our Note even without Google’s latest Android OS. If you think that the Note’s display is too small, you might as well wait for its 10.1-inch version that will most likely be exhibited at the Mobile World Congress.
