Good news for smartphone enthusiasts all over the world! The current financial climate is responsible for the situation in which Motorola is currently in. Motorola found themselves in a comprehensive process of restructuring and an interesting fact that you certainly noticed arisen in the last few days. They are now relying on the largest market in the world. As a result, who else than China comes into our equation? There, in China, Motorola have chosen to present – if needed because we already knew all the details regarding the hardware and design – the Milestone 3 phone which, in the US, will be called Droid 3.
The specs of Motorola’s new smartphone which existed in rumor land for quite some time were confirmed by the official press release. Thus, there are no surprises to be found. It is the first dual-core smartphone boasting a physical QWERTY keyboard and I’m sure it will sell quite well. Let’s take a closer look at the hardware department. It has a 4 inch screen with a qHD resolution of 540×960 pixels, QWERTAY keyboard arranged in four rows with dedicated keys for numbers, a dual-core processor powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 2 technology clocked at 1 GHz and 16 GB internal memory expandable with a microSD slot up to 32 GB. The Milestone smartphone is running the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
How about the camera of the Milestone? Boasting 1080p video recording capabilities, the rear facing camera has an 8 megapixel sensor that can shoot full HD. For video calls, there’s also a front unit available. Overall, the Milestone, as expected, is a powerful smartphone that will surely found its customers across the world. It will be available across China in Q3 and hopefully we’ll see it in Europe and the US in the near future as well.
