Sooner or later, the holiday season will be over and our New Year will certainly be filled with lots of new things and bombshells. Moreover, our tech folks will surely be announcing their latest models of smartphones and tablets. In fact, we have heard from a couple of reports that Apple is currently preparing for the upcoming release of its newest models of iPad, iPhone and Macbook Pro. Well, that isn’t much of a buzz because we already know that the Cupertino Company has this annual release routine for its famed notebook, tablet and phone.

But what sparks our interest is the fact that we’ve been told that Apple plans to make its slate thicker than the previous version. We’re guessing that it will be called as the iPad 3 and it will be 0.7mm thicker than the iPad 2. The extra thickness will most likely be due to the tablet’s twin-light bar system that will be used to optimize the quality of its high-resolution Retina Display. It was also leaked that the tablet will be announced this January and will be released by March.
On the other hand, the next-gen iPhone will be dubbed as the iPhone 5. We doubt that the phone will be named as such but what seems to be more intriguing is that it is currently being claimed to be 8.8mm longer than the previous iPhone and will sport an aluminum casing with a 4 inch display. It will also be equipped with an LTE-ready power cell that will prevent its rapid battery drain. The iPhone 5 will be rolled on June and is currently at its engineering phase.
Meanwhile, we aren’t that surprised to know that next year will be the year for the thinner MacBook Pro. Nevertheless, we’re hoping to know if it will have some major improvements in its technical specifications. The refreshed Apple notebook will be shipped sometime around the first quarter of 2012.
