HTC fans have a reason to smile about as HTC’s sales numbers are looking very good. The Taiwanese manufacturer HTC has registered an impressive growth in terms of sales in June. These are 87.8% higher than in the same month of 2010. As a result, the balance slightly shifted. On this occasion, the Asian manufacturer ranks 5th in the top list of mobile phones producers, immediately after Apple, which ranked 4, according to Gartner. So one might wonder what is the cause for this rise in popularity and big sales numbers?  Let’s find out!
The reason for the success of HTC? In my opinion, two factors have contributed to the growth of HTC in the past year: the adoption of Android on a big scale and the launch of the terminals that were presented at the Mobile World Congress 2011 in February with a lot of publicity. The hype also contributed to the overall already favorable situation. What is more, Gartner gives us again interesting figures: globally, Android holds 36% of the mobile operating systems market in the month of May. Reuters also gives us some interesting insight and claims that because of the Android and HTC’s powerful products, we will see in 2011 about 50 million smartphones shipped by this company across the globe. Pretty impressive, don’t you think? The future will tell us if these numbers will turn out to be true but in the meantime, not everything is perfect in paradise. Thus, the shares of the creator of the Sense interface fell 19% from 7 June until today.
The shares then recovered due to the news of increased sales of HTC but it remains to be seen how the Taiwanese company will develop, with hits such as the ChaCha or HTC Sensation that are taking market by storm.
