iPhone 5 rumors and alleged photos combined with a good mystery
always get me salivating for more. Looking in retrospective, it’s been
quite a while since the last picture depicting the iPhone 5 was posted
on the Web… Don’t worry though as the trend is back and this time we
have pictures of a supposed iPhone 5 boasting rear facing dual 3D
cameras. The wait was worth it, isn’t it?
After I finished drooling, I decided to take a closer look at these
photos. The question, of course, is if they are real or not? The iPhone 5
name is confirmed by the back case of the terminal while the
information is coming from a Slashgear source. The source’s name is
fishtoon by the way, if you’re interested. If you correctly remember,
this piece of news isn’t exactly mind blowing as we had indications of a
possible future implementation of 3D technology on Apple products had
appeared since last year. In 2010, the Cupertino giant acquired the
Poly9 company filled by experts in 3D technology. Rumors intensified
last December when Apple has patented a technology for 3D displays that
does not require special glasses for viewing the actual content.
Finally, iPhone’s creator also patented 3D cameras in March and now this
terminal makes its appearance. Now it feels right and much more like a
smooth evolutionary process, isn’t it? The iPhone 5 photos were
published by 175wan, a news site without authority in telecom, so they
must be taken with a pinch of salt.
The original article stated that the images were made in Shenzhen, China, the iPhone 5 being photographed “by mistake”. It seems that this phone comes with a 4-inch screen. What do you think? Are these images real? Will the new iPhone be a 3D phone? In a couple of month, we will certainly know for sure.
