The guys from TechCrunch made an important discovery a few hours
ago. Thus, looking at the code for the iPhone Facebook application (the
new version), they managed to found details about the Facebook
applications for the iPad, which then they tested it. Let’s have a
closer look at what they have found!
The software is written using HTML5, typical for Facebook, and the
TechCrunch editors praise the navigation system in particular. While the
FB application for iPhone is a little uncomfortable, the fact that the
one for the iPad uses a main menu on the left, which can be accessed by
pressing a button or a swipe motion on the screen, is already a big plus
in our cards.
The software also uses several overlapping menus, a common feature
for the software found on the iPad and when you will turn the tablet in
landscape mode, you will be able to see a list of the online contacts.
As a result, you can access the chat function. What is more, another
great feature is incorporated in the right way in the FB app for the
iPad. The photo viewer looks great, reminiscent of the photo gallery
application on the iPad.
Keep in mind the fact that all of these functions were found in the
3.4.4 Facebook application for iPhone which brought minor improvements
on the handset, such as return the of the “Send” button for comments and
chat. From what we know so far, even Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook
creator, was involved in the developing of the application for the iPad
and we can certainly see the desired results. When we will also see a
Google + app designed for the iPad? Until then, we are looking forward
to the official release the iPad FB app!
