To all Apple iPad users – we have some juicy news for you. And if you have been following our iPad posts lately, then you will most likely have an idea of that neat little surprise that Apple continues to hide inside its secret office.
You sure are right with your notion. It is the next-gen iPad that is also being rumoured as the iPad 3. Of course, we won’t give you our word about this for we are still not sure if this new iOS slate will really be the next-gen model. In fact, we have been hearing some speculations that the new slate will only be an upgraded version of this year’s iPad 2.
But that’s not all. Recent reports are stating that the Apple iPad 3 will be officially out in the market by February 2012. There’s no specific date of release but words on the streets have stated that the new slate will sport a screen that will somewhat double the resolution of the current model. The original source of this leak is a Citi Analyst named Richard Gardner. He also pointed out that there aren’t any significant hurdles that could thwart the slate’s scheduled release.
If this is true, then you can expect that the next iPad will come out with a full screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The iPad 2, on the other hand, sports a 9.7 inch diagonal LED backlit multi-touch display with a maximum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. It can also be noted that the new Apple slate has previously been rumoured to be made thicker than the iPad 2. The extra depth will be used to accommodate the slate’s twin-light bar system. Leaks have also stated that Apple is currently testing some prototype versions of the so-called iPad 3 and that the Cupertino Company will choose the one that will be able to meet the needs.
