- For Windows users, you will need to download the USB drivers on your computer. You can get the drivers by installing Samsung Kies on your computer. Make sure to close Samsung Kies before following the procedures below.

Heimdall Method
- Download and install Heimdall Frontend to your computer.
- For Windows users, download and install the Heimdall Suite 1.3.2 (Binaries) (heimdall-suite-1.3.2-win32.zip, 9.6 MB). This will install the Heimdall command line tool, Heimdall Frontend, and drivers. You also need Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 installed on your computer to use this tool.
- For OS X 10.4+ (Universal – x86/AMD64/Intel 64) users, download and install the Heimdall Suite 1.3.2 (Binaries) (heimdall-suite-1.3.2-mac.dmg, 12.4 MB). This will install Heimdall command line tool, Heimdall Frontend, and drivers (Codeless kext) on your computer.
- For Debian Linux (i386/x86) users, download and install Heimdall Frontend 1.3.2 (Binary) (heimdall-frontend_1.3.2_i386.deb, 91.4 kB). You will also need to install the Heimdall 1.3.2 – Command Line (binary) (heimdall_1.3.2_i386.deb, 41.4 kB) for you to use Heimdall Frontend.

- Switch off your tablet.
- Reboot your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3110 into Download Mode. You can do that by pressing and holding the Volume Up key (right key on the Volume rocker) and Power button. When a warning message appears, press the Volume Down key (left key on the Volume rocker) to continue.
- NOTE: To avoid confusion, the Left Volume key is the button nearest to the Power button. On the other hand, the Right Volume key is the button farthest from the Power button.

ClockworkMod Recovery Method
- Download the ClockworkMod Recovery image (recovery.tar.md5, 5.3 MB).
- Download the root package (cwm-root-gtab2.zip, 1.22 MB).
- Download Odin3 v1.85 (Odin3-v1.85_3.zip, 199 kB).
- Extract Odin3-v1.85_3.zip into a folder on your computer.
- Go to the extracted folder and double-click Odin3 v1.85.exe to launch Odin on your computer.
- Copy cwm-root-gtab2.zip to the root of your tablet’s external SD card.
- Switch off your tablet.
- Reboot your tablet into Download Mode. You can do that by pressing and holding the Volume Up key (right key on the Volume rocker) and Power button. When a warning message appears, press the Volume Down key (left key on the Volume rocker) to continue.
- Connect your tablet to the computer via the USB cable. The word “Added” will appear in Odin. If it doesn’t appear, make sure you have properly installed the USB drivers on your computer.
- Click the PDA button in Odin and choose the recovery.tar.md5file.
- NOTE: Do not make unnecessary changes in Odin. Doing so will likely brick your tablet.
- Once all are set, click the Start button in Odin.
- Your tablet will automatically reboot. You will also get the “Pass” message in Odin.
- Turn off your tablet.
- Reboot your tablet into ClockworkMod Recovery mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down key (left key on the Volume rocker) and Power button. When the Samsung logo appears, release the Power button but keep the Volume key pressed.
- NOTE: Once in recovery, use the Volume keys to navigate and the Power button to select an option.
- Select Install ZIP From SD Card and choose the cwm-root-gtab2.zip file. Confirm the action on the next screen to initiate the rooting process.
- Once complete, go back to the main menu and select Reboot System Now.
