One thing is for sure, according to reports, Samsung Series 5 Boost will come in either 15 inches or 17 inches screen configurations both having 1600 x 900 pixels resolution. Knowing the fact that either Intel’s i5 or i7 processors come with built-in graphics processor, it is easier to assume that even if the Series 5 Boost will feature a separate GPU for maximum display performance, Intel’s new and improved integrated graphics will come into play when the laptop is in battery-saving mode. This will eventually help in conserving energy, and of course credits go to Nvidia’s switchable graphics card.
I guess with a powerful CPU and GPU on the play inside these devices, it would be logical to hope for a 4GB RAM considering the fact that they will surely operate on Microsoft’s Windows 8 when it’s released later this year. This is Samsung’s entry into the high-end laptops for this year so we can expect that we will be getting all the best. There is another thing that we are certain of, Samsung Series 5 Boost will come with JBL speakers paired with a sub-woofer that would leave us to think that despite the smaller dimension of its built-in speakers, we would be getting a better audio quality.
Samsung Series 5 Boost will get a 1TB hard disk drive (HDD) and it is also safer to assume there would be a solid state disk (SSD) that would be very beneficial for allocating space for the operating system as well as the other system files. While it is clear that the Korean manufacturer will not be competing in the thinnest or the lightest category, it made sure its new series of high-performance laptops have what it takes to be considered among the most capable laptop computers this year. For Samsung, it is always better to have a bigger and better laptop than to have the smallest, thinnest or lightest that don’t offer much convenience to owners.
The information about the price, availability or the release dates of this series hasn’t been revealed by the manufacturer yet. However, analysts believe that Samsung will be releasing these devices in the third quarter in preparation for the grand release of Windows 8. These devices will make sure the company’s brand will not be missing in action by the time the Windows 8-generated trend will come into play. But aside from Samsung Series 5 Boost, the company also revealed the specs of Samsung Series 3, Series 5 and Series 9.
