Features
Well the name choice is baffling to say the least. This is because the Epic Touch 4G is originally slated to be called either as Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Within in keeping with the Galaxy series that cemented Samsung’s position at the top of the Android smart phone heap. Of course, the name issue is not the only reason that makes the Epic Touch 4G one hot phone. If you know your Android, then you know that the Samsung Galaxy S is one excellent piece of equipment. And if you know Samsung, then you know that the company has a penchant for always outdoing itself. If the Galaxy S is able to challenge Apple and its iPhone, then one can already imagine what the smart phone arena will be like after the release of the Epic Touch 4G.
The Epic Touch 4G will be carried by Sprint. You can conclude from the 4G designation that this device will be able to connect to Sprint’s WiMAX network. When the public first had a glimpse of the Epic Touch 4G, which was then touted as the Galaxy S2, it had the Sprint WiMAX bands.
Verizon Wireless and AT&T will also release their own versions of the Galaxy S2 but these companies have yet to announce release dates. Who knows, maybe they will even be able to beat Sprint and release their own versions of the much awaited smart phone.
Some users may be disappointed to know that unlike the Epic the Epic Touch 4G will not have a physical keyboard. The slideout keyboard of the Epic is actually one of its best features. So the lack of the said feature in this one may make users feel that they are downgrading instead of upgrading.
Price and Release Date
The Samsung Epic Touch 4G is slated to be release on September 9, 2011. No data yet on price.
Conclusion
With its impressive features and excellent pedigree, the Samsung Epic Touch 4G is definitely worthy of all the buzz its receiving. But of course, we still need to see how the phone will actually look like and how it will perform.
