Nook Color from Barnes & Noble is surely one of the best consumer devices. It comes with a 7-inch capacitive touch screen (1024×600 resolution) and Android 2.1 operating system. It can serve you in the best way in case you follow a few hacking instructions. According to Digitimes a Taiwanese trade publication, B&N will come with a follow up of Nook color that will be integrated with tablet functionality such as email, music and other apps that’s mean Nook Color 2 will be launching sometime this month.
In this report, Digitimes also mentioned some hardware vendors for the device. For example, TPK Holdings will supply touch panels while that of Inventec will assist in the assembly process. The best of all, in hardware vendor the name of E Ink is also mentioned since it will offer e-paper back-plates for the next-gen Nook Color. If this is true then surely Nook Color 2 would be the first tablet providing provides a color e-paper display with large market availability.
We have some doubt about this E Ink rumor but don’t worry soon we have some clear idea. At this time, we don’t know what to expect from this successor of Nook Color. It seems that the launch date of this device is not so far, so be ready for it.
Don’t forget to check a video of a developer in which Nook Color is running on Honeycomb 3.0 operating system.
