Motorola have just announced they have developed yet another Android powered handset for the already crowded market, the Motorola PRO+.  The PRO+ is the next phone in the Motorola PRO series, otherwise known as the Motorola Droid Pro on Verizon.  The phone is very similar in style to the Blackberry Bold line of phones, and features a full QWERTY keyboard seemingly aimed at making the transition from Blackberry to Android just that little bit easier.
Motorola have gone with a 1GHz CPU, 512 MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, and a 5 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash.  The phone will be running Android Gingerbread 2.3 when launched, which should assist in managing the life of the 1600mAh battery.
Is this move by Motorola just another thorn in Blackberry’s side, or will the PRO+ gain momentum and begin to take that little extra piece of market share that RIM are scrambling so frantically to maintain?  Well we will definitely find out soon, with the Motorola PRO+ set to hit Asia and Europe in October it won’t be long at all.  With IFA Berlin 2011 about to get started it is very likely that we will see this device demonstrated there, as the Moto marketing machine swings into full gear in an attempt to grow their slice of the lucrative smartphone pie.  With the additional features built into the PRO+ that appeal to system administrators and IT admins, Blackberry may just need to watch out for this new kid on the block.  What do you think of the PRO+?
