Motorola Defy+ UK Release Date Confirmed For September

Motorola fans in the UK have something to celebrate today, with Motorola confirming that the Defy+ smartphone will be released in the UK sometime in September.  At this stage they have not confirmed a specific date in September, or which of the UK carriers the phone will be launched on.  But those are just minor details for the army of Motorola and Android enthusiasts in the UK who have been waiting to get their hands on the Defy+.
Why are they getting excited you ask?  Well the phone does have an impressive list of features, including a 3.7-Inch 480×854 pixel Gorilla Glass display, Motorola’s famous MOTOBLUR UI with Live Widgets, microSD slot (2GB included) expandable to 32GB, a 1GHz TI OMAP 3620 processor, and a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash.  The Defy+ will be running Android Gingerbread 2.3, has a 1700mAh battery that provides up to 7.1 hours of talk time and up to 16 days standby time, as well as being encased in the same protection as the original Defy.  This protection makes the Defy+ dust proof and water resitant, has a built in cardio trainer, and is being marketed as the ‘life-proof’ smartphone.
The combination of features does make the Defy+ a unique smartphone, and although it may not be to everyone’s taste there is definitely a market for this phone.  IFA Berlin 2011 is set to begin shortly, and it is very likely we will see some other unique offerings on show there also.
In the UK? Will you be buying a Defy+ when they are released?
