Pre-requisites
A. Backup all your data before doing anything in your phone. There are apps from Google Play Store that could help you with it. Besides, it wouldn’t take five minutes to backup everything in your device considering you can just copy files and folders to your computer.B. Enable the USB – MS toggle in your device and V20G firmware should be installed before you proceed to implementing this update.
C. Make sure you have at least 60% of battery in your device as this update requires no interruption. There have been many reported cases of LG Optimus phones having been bricked after the update process was interrupted.
D. Enable USB or Android Debugging in your device. This is necessary because you will be connecting your device to your computer. You can surely disable this option once the update is finished.
E. Make sure you have at least one custom recovery installed, it could either be Amonra or CWM. You should clear or wipe all your data then do the partition swapping as stated below.
F. Enter the recovery mode and select the partition SD Card option – swap-size: 64MB, Ext2-size: 300MB, Continue partitioning, SD:ext2 to ext3.

Step 1: Download Android 4.0.4 ICS Custom ROM package. Then download Google Apps. Save these files to your computer first then, connect your phone and copy the into your device’s internal memory.Step 2: After you’ve finished copying the files, disconnect your phone from your computer and turn it off.
Step 3: Now put your Optimus One into recovery mode by holding down Volume Down, Home and Power buttons. If your devices boots normally, you should turn it off and re-try this step.
Step 4: When you’re inside the recovery mode you can choose to either make a NANDROID Backup of your data or Full Wipe except the SD Card.
Step 5: Now, all you need to do is flash the CM9 ICS firmware and reboot. Then you need to flash Google Apps then reboot once again.
Step 6: Once your device is reboot successfully, you need to install LINK2SD from Google Play Store, then select ext3 and reboot.
Step 7: Now launch LINK2SD app and select Autolink under the Preferences and you’re done.
