Do you recall the cellphone by Acer with the huge 4.8-inch screen? Well there is definitely a good possibility that you do not, however we initially first tested out the gadget at the World Mobile Congress that was held in Barcelona, and frankly there has not been much speculations and rumors about if after it first was witnessed in April at FCC.
The phone in question has a very ‘tall’ look to it. It has a 4.8’’ inch screen with a resolution of 1024×480 and an aspect ratio of 21:9. Enter an 8 mega-pixel camera at the back-side and with a 721 pixel recording and a camera of 1.3 mega-pixel at the front-side, a one-body casing of metal, supporting Android 2.3, DLNA, and HDMI-out, and Acer’s not-too-shabby Breeze UI; combine all of this together you get a cell-phone that is very indicative of Acer’s position in the phone market of Android right now.
Now according to the official page of Acer Germany on Facebook, the phone is set to be launched most probably in September for USD710, the current date currently however is unknown. The phone page is online on the official site of Acer, but there is currently not information on its availability and its price.
Seemingly the specifications of the device were pretty great back at the World Mobile Congress, but as always happens with technology, newer and perhaps better “super phones” have come out which support dual cores and are leading the market right now. The question whether this new Acer device would be able to succeed in this ruthless market?
As far as international availability is concerned of this product, there has been no word on it. However, if you are a fan of viewing movies on mobile, this just might be a product for you.
