The phone series boasting a Super AMOLED Plus screen receives a new
member, in the form of the new model called SCH-i405, which can be
admired in the leaked image that recently appeared on the web.
Unfortunately, the blurred image does not provide us many details about
the terminal, but a keyboard that appears very comfortable is featured
in this photo. So what do we know by now?
It seems that we are dealing with an LTE phone model, equipped with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, the first of its kind for the U.S. operator Verizon. Samsung SCH-i405 resembles the Epic 4G model from Sprint’s catalogue but it has a few aces up its sleeve. Firstly, it has the advantage of a more advanced connectivity technology and secondly, let’s not forget the Super AMOLED Plus screen that was praised by those who have tested the smartphone.
Regarding the hardware specs, we know little information and can only speculate. As a result, the source of the guys from Android Central says he does not know exactly which processor model is inside the terminal, but we can be sure of one thing: it is certainly faster than the processor found on the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone. In addition, the SCH-i405 also sports a rear facing 5 megapixel camera while the front we find a 1.3 megapixel camera.
In terms of the QWERTY keyboard, we know it includes Internet shortcuts and the phone has received the Android 2.3.4 operating system. On the other hand, the Epic 4G is still stuck with the Android 2.2. There’s no launching timing at the moment but we if take a closer look at the specs, we can expect that the phone will pop-out by the end of the year. Now one question puzzles everyone: is this model a modified version of the Galaxy S II terminal or a completely new model?
