It is no doubt that the world’s most anticipated smartphone right now
is Google’s next phone. After there were reports of the first Ice Cream
Sandwich smartphone, now we have more news surrounding this hot topic.
Although Samsung is the manufacturer of the second model of Google’s
phone, Nexus S, behold, the South Korean manufacturer is already ready
for an encore! According to the latest rumors, the Asian company might
make a new Google Phone, known as the Nexus Prime.
Remember in the past when a new model Nexus came into the discussion, names like HTC and LG were thrown about. In addition, the existence of a picture of a mysterious Motorola terminal led us to think of the involvement of this company into the whole mix. What is more important is the fact that the Nexus Prime will be the first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich model and it will incorporate a Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 720p, if we were to believe the usual “sources inside the company”. Our suspicions that Samsung will indeed be the manufacturer are confirmed by the branding. “Prime” is the actual codename of the phone and it is said that it could be launched as the “Google Nexus Prime”.
The same sources confirmed the presence of an OMAP4460 processor and there is also an alternative to Samsung’s involvement in the project. Imagine an OEM for each of the next Nexus model and a simultaneous launch of the Google Phone from LG, HTC, Motorola and Samsung. All these flagship releases on T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint would really spice things up! In these circumstances, the iPhone could receive quite a blow, even if their fifth generation model is a hit. The summer is indeed looking extremely hot, just as we would like it!
