The HTC 7 Pro available with U.S. Cellular is similar to the HTC
Arrive that is available on the Sprint network. At this time, there are
three main players in the smartphone market, iOS from Apple, Android
from Google but licensed to manufacturers, and Windows Phone by
Microsoft. The HTC 7 Pro is a Windows Phone 7 powered smartphone. HTC
also has Android powered smartphone in the market as well. This is the
first smartphone from U.S. Cellular which carries the Windows Phone 7 OS
option.

Features
The HTC 7 Pro is a sturdy smartphone, and a bit on the hefty side but
that is because of all the metal that has gone in it to give it its
strength. The tilting screen is very convenient to use and makes it easy
to handle when in the landscape mode. Voice call quality for the people
on the other end, over the Dual Band CDMA 800/1900 MHz, were clear
without any distortion or background noise; however reception was not up
to mark at the HTC 7 Pro side. The phone sports practically unlimited
address book entries with each entry capable of storing multiple
information including Photocall features. The microSD slot is missed in
this phone, though there is enough memory available to last you a long
time. Microsoft introduced organizing information in Hubs with the
Windows Phone 7. Hubs allow organization of information based on their
similarities and relationships.
Verdict
The HTC 7 Pro has a good solid design that has already been tried
with the HTC Arrive. The keys on the slide out QWERTY Keyboard are well
spaced and have rubbery tactile feel to them. When the keyboard is slid
out, the screen tilts up to a comfortable angle on a solid hinge, for
better more natural viewing of content displayed. The phone however, is
not only heavier than its competitive alternatives it is also noticeably
bulkier. The display is not as bright as some of the other Windows
phones out in the market. The Windows experience is perhaps a bit more
complicated than that provided through Androids and iOS’s.
Price
The HTC 7 Pro goes for about $620 without contract; however, with the
contract from U.S. Cellular, this Windows Phone 7 phone can be
available for $199.00.
