As autumn 2011 approaches, more and more news surrounding Apple’s
hotly anticipated portfolio are starting to appear. The component
manufacturers from Taiwan which are included in the supply chain for
Apple’s iPad and iPhone have begun preparations for the components which
assembled will become the new iPhone 5 and iPad 3. A lot of rumors and
information has been circulating in the last few months about the iPhone
5, but nothing really concrete has presented itself. The iPad 3 piece
of news seems quite a surprise after the iPad 2 has officially launched
in the U.S. in March. Apple generally used to refresh and shake thing up
a little with a new product/sequel once a year.
Sources say that iPad 3 will be thinner and will probably fall below the value of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 of 8.5 mm and have a 250dpi screen. The same sources point out that the iPhone’s production will begin in August 2011 in a low volume and will have a very strong growth in September 2011. The sales of the iPhone sales are expected to aggregate in the third quarter 24-25 millions of units and out of those, 6 -7 millions should represent the iPhone 5. In 2011, it is expected that Apple sells 85 million iPhones and 40 million iPads around the world.
The above figures have put fear I think, in the figurative sense, in companies like Google, Samsung, LG, Motorola and Asus. The “Apple rules” expression is very suited here. They almost have no rival in the mobile operating system and tablets department. The iOS is on fire and is going well beyond the competition like an incoming TGV train if we look at the number of applications and downloads. Can anyone stop Apple? After all, if Apple can find their godfather, the only ones who will benefit will be the end consumers!
