Nokia Smartphone
Sources inside the telecom segment have information that Nokia plans to lower the prices to very attractive levels for its models. This strategy comes amidst the growing loss of market share of Nokia in favor of you-know-who. Terminals with Android on board and the iPhone is your answer. The Finns could report losses for the second and third quarter of this year and Reuters quoted inside sources, saying that the phone manufacturer will make discounts by up to 15%. So what smartphones are going down this route? The concerned models are Nokia N8, C7 and E6, each aiming at a specific target group of audience. There will also be discounts for other Nokia phones, but the percentage will be lower and not more than 15%.
So what does this mean for Sony Ericsson, LG and Motorola? Following Nokia’s price drops, these companies would be forced to rethink their strategy and come up with even more attractive offers. On the other hand, we all know who comes up victorious from this fierce battle between mobile developers: the customer! In the end, buyers are those who win through lower prices, but I hope this does not affect the quality of some products made by companies that will fight for these lower costs. We’ll certainly keep our eyes wide open.
