A couple of days ago, Google launched the Google Play Store. Yes, that’s the app that you will be using to download your favorite music, movies, eBooks, games and applications. Unlike the Android Market that’s purely focused on apps, the Google Play Store is a one-stop Android store. Eventually, you’ll be getting anything that you need and want in just a few taps! And speaking of which, we have just found out that Google has released a new update that will upgrade the app’s version to 3.5.15. For those of you out there who are still stuck with version 3.4.7, better keep an eye on that precious update notification.

So what kind of changes will you be expecting with the updated version of the Google Play Store? Aside from its all-in-one features, you will get two new tabs that will allow you to view your downloaded and installed applications. One is for the ‘Installed’ apps and it will allow you to browse the apps that you have installed. You can basically check the apps that you need to update as well as those apps that have been kept up to date. As for the other tab, it will basically show ‘All’ the apps that you have downloaded including those that you haven’t installed on your phone.
Another good thing about this update is that you can finally sort the reviews that you see on each and every app. You can opt to see the most helpful reviews or have the newest ones on the top. You can even sort the reviews according to a specific phone model or app version. Come to think of it, you might be reading a 5-star app review from a user that installed the app on his or her Samsung Galaxy S 2 while you will be downloading the app on a lower-end Android device. Besides, it’s a hassle looking at each section of the review just to know if the phone that their using is similar to yours.
Apparently, you will need to wait until your phone’s Google Play Store app gets updated to the latest version. But if you think that it would take long before you get that notification, you can opt to manually install the update to your tablet or phone. All that you need to do is download the .apk file of the update from this link and have it installed on your phone. Do not forget to change the file’s extension to .apk if ever it gets downloaded in a different file format. If you are a bit hesitant in doing this kind of process, you should know that you have nothing to worry about. You don’t even need to root your handset just to get this installed.
