CyanogenMod 7.1 RC
Among the supported models, you can find the Samsung Galaxy S, LG Optimus 2X, Nexus S, HTC Desire or HTC Incredible S. So if the expectation of the Gingerbread OS on the Desire disappointed you and you are among this blue and sad crowd, you can resort to this solution proved by Cyanogen in order to get the OS much earlier. If you already are a CyanogenMod user, you will not find too many changes in this version, but if you want a stable software, then CM 7.1 is the answer. It is a stable build with many improvements and solid changes.
As always, we recommend caution in dealing with this software. Keep in mind that you should always make a backup before installing it. Titanium Backup is a great tool which will allow you to make a back-up of all your apps and settings. The easiest way to upgrade to CM 7.1 is by flashing your phone through ROM Manager or manually. Note that currently, CyanogenMod has over 400,000 users so an extra point of safety and popularity is awarded to them.
